Here are the minutes from our last meeting March 15th:
We opened by electing new officers: Larry Desalvo is your new President. Rich Hamilton is your new Secretary/Treasurer.
There are only 2 ways to register for events. The preferred method is by going to https://igaclub.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/igaclubfoxprairiegcparent16/schedule/index.htm (You can also get to the link from www.Foxmensclub.com). The other way is to sign up in person with Gary at the Fox Prairie clubhouse. You are not allowed to telephone the clubhouse to sign up. Anyone who signs up for an event and then no shows will be charged a $15 penalty. The penalty will be withheld from any tournament winnings.
The Rule of 75 stays for the Gold Tees. As previously explained in emails from Chip, the disparity between the Gold and White tees were discussed. Gary contacted USGA and asked them to specify what clubs should do when playing tournaments from separate tees. Thank you Chip and Gary for researching. Players competing from two different tees: Player A is competing from the Blue tees (71.0) and Player B is competing from the White tees (69.0). Since the USGA Course Rating difference is two strokes, Player A must add two to the Course Handicap calculated from the Blue tees. As an alternative, Player B may deduct two from the Course Handicap calculated from the White tees, as the overall effect would be the same (see Decision 3-5/1). The East/Central course ratings – White 71.1, Gold 66.7 –Difference 4.4. Therefore, we voted and passed the rule that any player that hits from the white tees will receive an additional 4 strokes. This rule does apply to all gross matches and games.
The tournament committee (Gary Deakyne, Larry DeSalvo, Rich Hamilton, Brad Gunter & Kipp Scott) met and worked out the schedule as well as some changes to a couple of tournaments. Most notably the Four-Ball tournament has changed and all Club Championship opening matches will be scheduled on 1 day. I will write up the schedule and have it to everyone this weekend.
Just know the first match will be the Beat the Pro Friday April 15th, followed by the Team Scramble on Sunday April 17th. If there is any questions or anything needs more explanation, don't hesitate to contact myself (CalChris22001@yahoo.com) or Larry DeSalvo (led1247@me.com).
Thanks, Rich
