Everyone,
We had a good meeting with a lot of great ideas. Thanks for everyone who came and participated.
1) Voted to continue to be Secretary and Treasurer was Rich Hamilton. Voted to continue to be President was Mike Chin. Rich will be putting together a side pots committee that will help run, tally and record all side pot games.
2) We discussed changes to the Hoby Cat and it was agreed upon that we would keep the tournament location and format the same.
3) 4-Ball tournament rules have changed. There will no longer be a minimum index number for teams. Anyone can partner with anyone. The 4-Ball will remain match play, but it will be full handicap. Strokes will now be given instead of a gross tournament.
4) We have voted on a points race. There will be a season long race where everyone can earn points for doing really good things on the golf course, like making 50 foot putts or holing out from the fairway. These points are only available during a tournament event (scramble not included). Please see Eric Newmark at the clubhouse to get your points card and explanation if needed. Total pot is $600 funded by the men's club. It will cost you nothing this year.
5) The Billy Elder scholarship application is due April 24th. Please have your graduating senior fill out the application and submit it to Curt Briscoe. The rules are on our website: www.foxmensclub.com We did not give one out last year because we didn't have any applications. Please don't let this opportunity pass you buy if you have a child, grandchild or dependent that could qualify.
6) After many years, we are bringing back Red's Race. The whole month of May, anytime you play at Fox, you can enter Red's Race. There's a gross board and a net board. You pick which board you want to play or play in both. $3 for 1 event and $5 for both. Paid every time you want to enter the race. If you come out to play, and you have another mens club member play with you, give Gary your gross or net score. The top 33 of each category will be on the race board and that's the driver you will get for the Indy 500.
7) The Tuesday game at the Park is back!!!! Parker, Podge and Riley have agreed to bring it back and run it. They will be sending out an email when it's up and running. They are running it and will determine the rules and teams. This is not just a mens club event. You can bring others if they have a legitimate handicap.
8) On the day of the seniors tournament (Jun 11), anyone who does not qualify can play in our "younguns" Ironman tournament. 27 holes, gross and net.
You have 1 month until the first events. Send me your dues if you want your handicap re-instated so you can start posting your scores.
Thanks, Rich
